In a thrilling qualifying session on May 24, 2025, McLaren's Lando Norris clinched pole position with a record-breaking lap of 1:09.954, surpassing Lewis Hamilton's previous track record from 2019.

Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, who had dominated all three practice sessions, secured the second spot on the grid, narrowly missing pole by 0.109 seconds.

McLaren's Oscar Piastri qualified third, maintaining a strong position in a race notorious for limited overtaking opportunities.

Lewis Hamilton originally qualified fourth but received a three-place grid penalty for impeding Max Verstappen during Q1, dropping him to seventh.

Max Verstappen moved up to fourth, followed by Isack Hadjar in fifth and Fernando Alonso in sixth.

With the main race ahead, all eyes are on McLaren's Lando Norris to see if he can convert his pole position into a victory on the challenging streets of Monaco.

F2 Sprint Race – Monaco Grand Prix

In the Formula 2 Sprint Race supporting the Monaco Grand Prix, Kush Maini secured his first victory of the season, leading from start to finish.

Maini, driving for DAMS Lucas Oil, held off fellow Alpine Academy driver Gabriele Minì, who applied pressure throughout the race but ultimately finished second.

The race showcased the challenges of the Monaco circuit, with limited overtaking opportunities emphasizing the importance of qualifying and race strategy.
