Mazda's new EZ-60 electric SUV has made a significant impact in the Chinese market, securing over 10,000 pre-orders within just 48 hours of its debut at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show. Developed in collaboration with Changan Mazda, the EZ-60 is poised for a global launch by August 2025. 

Key Features of the Mazda EZ-60

• Powertrain Options: The EZ-60 offers both Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) variants. The range-extended PHEV pairs a 1.5L engine (serving solely as a generator) with a 190 kW electric motor and a 31.73 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery, delivering an electric-only range of 160 km.

• Design and Dimensions: Embodying Mazda's "FUTURE + SOUL x MODERN" design philosophy, the EZ-60 features sleek lines and a contemporary aesthetic. It measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,935 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a 2,902 mm wheelbase.

• Interior and Technology: The cabin boasts a 26.45-inch 5K ultra-wide screen integrating the instrument panel, infotainment system, and climate controls. An optional 23-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system enhances the auditory experience. Rear passengers have access to individual touchscreens for comfort and media settings. 

• Safety and Driver Assistance: Equipped with nine airbags, the EZ-60 also features an L2-level driver assistance system supported by five HD cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. Its battery safety system, developed with CATL and CALB, includes eight layers of protection, meeting or exceeding China's 2026 regulatory standards. 

Global Launch Plans

Mazda has announced plans to launch the EZ-60 globally by August 2025. The vehicle's strong initial reception in China underscores its potential appeal in international markets. The EZ-60 represents Mazda's commitment to expanding its electric vehicle lineup and meeting the diverse needs of customers worldwide.
