The Beaverton Fire Department in Michigan has introduced a fully electric 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV into its fleet, marking a significant advancement in sustainable emergency response. This vehicle will serve as a light medical rescue unit and support resource vehicle, enhancing the department's operational capabilities while aligning with environmental sustainability goals. The acquisition was made possible through an $89,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), which also funded battery-powered portable lighting to reduce fuel and maintenance expenses and improve safety at emergency scenes.
