Valentino Rossi in the running for a second participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans
BMW M Motorsport has officially announced its line-up for the LMGT3 class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Valentino Rossi, nine-time Grand Prix Motorcycle World Champion, will once again be at the start of the Le Mans classic.
Valentino Rossi is about to start his second season in the FIA WEC's LMGT3 class with the #46 BMW M4 GT3 Evo. He will share the car, which will carry his lucky number, with new recruit Kelvin van der Linde and Ahmad Al Harthy. "I'm very happy to continue my experience in the FIA WEC, as last year was a good first season," said Rossi. "We had some good races, including two podiums, and we want to try to be stronger and faster . We will work hard with BMW M Motorsport to improve our performance and be more competitive in every race. It's great to be racing again on fantastic tracks, which I know well from motorcycle racing, and it makes me appreciate the FIA WEC. Le Mans is of course the most important. We were unlucky last year, but we will fight for the podium in 2025!" »
Let us remember that last November, Valentino Rossi impressed at the wheel of the BMW M Hybrid V8 during the FIA WEC Rookie Test .

Andreas Roos , BMW M Motorsport Director, said: “I congratulate Team WRT on once again recruiting some of the best Silver and Bronze drivers for the cockpits of our two new BMW M4 GT3 EVOs. They will hopefully create many great moments alongside our three factory drivers.”
BMW M Motorsport Customer Racing Boss, Björn Lellmann, added: “The BMW M4 GT3 EVO will make its debut in the FIA WEC and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Therefore, our determination to achieve victories from the outset is high . We want to demonstrate what the car is capable of. The Team WRT crews are built for this.”
Last season, Team WRT finished fourth and sixth in the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMGT3 Teams. The #31 BMW M4 LMGT3 of Leung/Gelael/Farfus finished second in the LMGT3 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
