24 Hours of Le Mans 2025: McLaren presents its Hypercar

The British manufacturer took advantage of the 93rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans to reveal the Hypercar with which it will participate in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the Le Mans classic, from 2027.

After announcing its entry into the Hypercar category last April , McLaren has unveiled its car and more details about its program. The cars will be entered in collaboration with United Autosports, a team that has been competing in LMP2 since 2017. The Hypercar will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 engine designed by McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive. The chassis will be built, produced, and developed by Dallara.
James Barclay , who has been Managing Director of JLR Motorsport and Jaguar TCS Racing in the Formula E World Championship, will join the team in September, following the season, which concludes at the end of July.
He will report to CEO Zak Brown , who said: “His leadership will be crucial in guiding us over the coming months as we prepare for our 2027 entry. We have a rich history in this series, and with James at the helm, we are confident that McLaren Endurance Racing will quickly establish itself as a competitive and successful team. I look forward to seeing it develop under his leadership.”
